TODAY IS GIVING TUESDAY 2020!!

Over the past few weeks we’ve discussed what cerebral palsy is, how we as an organization help those with CP, and how Giving Tuesday can help us raise the funds that are necessary for us to continue our mission into 2021.

We have so much to be thankful for: donors, volunteers, board members, staff, and clients that we serve and work with on a daily basis. With them, we are able to create a #lifewithoutlimits for so many people in the state of Indiana!

What are you thankful for today?

What do we do as an organization?

United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Indiana provides assistance to those with cerebral palsy to gain access to adaptive technology, medical equipment and other items that will increase their independence, mobility, communication and comfort. We also educate and advocate for cerebral palsy and other disabilities through our outreach programs, essay contests, and scholarship awards. Our services are available to all Hoosiers.

Financial support is one of many ways that can help individuals with CP live their life without limits to help provide research opportunities, adaptive equipment and access to other services. Join us in participating in #givingtuesday2020 on December 1, 2020 to make a big step toward raising crucial funds. This will allow us to continue working toward improving quality of life for many individuals as we begin to look toward the year 2021.

"What is cerebral palsy?"

The CDC describes cerebral palsy (CP) as a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. Symptoms can vary from person to person and include (but are not limited to) stiff muscles, uncontrollable movements, poor balance and coordination and can include related conditions such as intellectual disability, seizures, vision, speech and hearing issues, scoliosis, and joint problems.
Cerebral palsy is caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain before, during, or soon after birth. There is no cure for CP, but treatment along with use of adaptive equipment (if necessary) can improve the quality of lives of those individuals.
